Revolut Savings Vaults let you earn interest on cash held within your Revolut account. They are instant-access, easy to set up, and offer competitive rates — but they work differently from a traditional UK savings account. Here is what you need to know.

What Is a Revolut Savings Vault?
A Savings Vault is a separate pot within your Revolut account that earns interest. You can:
- Create multiple Vaults (e.g. one for a holiday, one for an emergency fund)
- Move money in and out instantly
- Set a savings goal
- Name and customise each Vault
Vaults are accessible in the Revolut app under the Savings section.
Savings Vault Rates
Revolut’s savings rates change regularly and are not published here as fixed figures because they move too often to state reliably — check the app for the current rate before opening a Vault. As a general pattern, higher-tier paid plans (Premium, Metal, Ultra) tend to earn a better rate than the free Standard plan, but the exact numbers, and any time-limited promotional boosted rates, should always be confirmed in-app or at revolut.com/savings/ on the day you check, since promotional rates are not permanent.
Always verify the current rate in the app — rates are variable, not guaranteed, and can change without notice.
How Revolut Savings Vaults Work
Unlike a traditional savings account, money in a Revolut Savings Vault may be held in money market funds, or placed with third-party partner banks, rather than as a straightforward bank deposit with Revolut itself. Money market funds invest in very short-term, low-risk instruments (government bonds, short-term corporate debt). They are considered very low risk but do carry a small amount of investment risk — in theory, the value could fall slightly, though this is rare.
Savings Vaults are provided by Revolut Ltd — a different entity to Revolut Bank UK Ltd, which holds your current account balance now that Revolut is a fully licensed UK bank (since March 2026).
FSCS Protection
Revolut Bank UK Ltd became a fully licensed UK bank on 11 March 2026, when the Prudential Regulation Authority lifted the restrictions on Revolut’s UK banking licence (first granted, in restricted form, in July 2024). Current account deposits held with Revolut Bank UK Ltd are FSCS-protected up to £120,000 per person — the deposit protection limit that applies to all UK banks since it rose from £85,000 on 1 December 2025.
Savings Vaults work differently. According to Revolut’s own help centre, Savings balances continue to be provided by Revolut Ltd, with the underlying cash placed with third-party partner banks. These balances are FSCS-protected up to £120,000 per person, per partner bank — assessed separately from your Revolut Bank UK Ltd current account, not combined with it.
Check your own status: Open the app → Account → Account details. Your current account may show “Revolut Bank UK Ltd” or the older “Revolut Ltd” e-money entity, depending on whether you’ve been migrated yet — migration is being rolled out in phases across Revolut’s UK customer base.

Revolut Savings vs Dedicated Easy-Access Accounts
| Provider | FSCS protection | Rate competitiveness | Instant access |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revolut Savings Vault | Yes — via Revolut Ltd’s partner banks, up to £120,000 per bank | Check current rate in app | Yes |
| Chase saver | Yes (bank) | Check current rate | Yes |
| Monzo Pot (instant access) | Yes (bank) | Check current rate | Yes |
| Marcus by Goldman Sachs | Yes (bank) | Check current rate | Yes |
| Chip | No (e-money) | Check current rate | Yes |
| Traditional ISA | Yes | Variable | Usually yes |
For large amounts, check exactly which partner bank(s) hold your Vault funds and confirm your total exposure to that institution across all your accounts, since the £120,000 limit is per banking licence, not per product. For smaller amounts where the convenience of keeping money within Revolut suits you, the Vault is a practical solution.
Setting Up a Savings Vault
- Open the Revolut app
- Tap Savings (bottom navigation or Home screen)
- Tap Create a Vault
- Name it and set an optional goal amount
- Add money by transferring from your main Revolut balance
The Vault starts earning interest immediately. You can top up, withdraw, or close the Vault at any time.
Round-Up Feature
Revolut also offers a round-up feature: every time you make a purchase, the spare change (rounded up to the nearest pound) is automatically transferred to a chosen Vault. On a £4.30 coffee purchase: 70p is added to the Vault. Over a year of regular spending, this can accumulate a meaningful amount without noticeable effort.
